By focusing on what is important, we recognize that our actions affect the world we are part of. Therefore, we strive to take our responsibility for the environment seriously by finding effective solutions that can help create a more sustainable future.

Below you can learn more about our bets:

1) objectives

3) materials

4) packaging

At KREAFUNK we show consideration. And we strive that our audio products will inspire and bring joy to everyone. This is not only in relation to aesthetics and functionality but also in relation to how we carefully choose our raw materials. We strive to conduct business responsibly and with respect for the environment.

Responsible sourcing: We source our raw materials wisely. This allows us to use the best materials that are available and which at the same time have as little impact on the environment as possible. Therefore, one of our long-term goals is also to reduce plastic consumption in everything we do.

Colours and materials: Our design department always keeps up to date on current trends and trends in terms of design, materials and colors. This in order for the products to remain relevant across the seasons.

Good sound: We use state of the art technology in order to provide you with the best audio experience.

Value for money: We produce products with unique quality and finish. At the same time, the price is right in the closet and available to everyone.

We strive to become more environmentally friendly by continuously improving our processes while minimizing our environmental footprint. For that to happen, we have to compromise. Therefore, we also believe that it is important to find the solutions that we can vouch for both economically and environmentally. Some steps we can take alone, others we need to take in cooperation with others to achieve the best result. Our green journey started a long time ago, and with small, but effective steps, we have achieved the following so far:

* Searched the market and selected environmentally friendly materials
* Partnered with valuable stakeholders who contribute recycled materials to the CARE collection
* Reduced consumption of unnecessary packaging

3. Materials

Our goal is always to use the best material available. By doing this, we can offer you quality products, both inside and outside. This not only makes our products extremely stylish but also gives the sound the best conditions. In this regard, we have found environmentally friendly alternatives. It is an ongoing process where we continuously improve as more potential materials for audio products are developed. With the use of quality materials, it is also possible to recycle most parts. Therefore, we encourage you to drop off your used electronics at your nearest recycling station.

3.1 wheat straw fibers

We are continuously looking for solutions that allow us to produce more environmentally friendly. So far, this means that we have replaced 35% of the plastic in the CARE collection with wheat straw fibres, and we are working towards this being ’new normal’ for all our products. Wheat straw fibres are a natural by-product of wheat production and are naturally reproduced within a given time frame.

Although we have replaced a large amount of plastic with natural fibres, the amazing sound you know from our other products have not changed. So it's a pure win-win situation if you ask us.

3.2 Collaborations

With the goal of working more environmentally friendly, we have partnered with Gabriel®, a Danish textile company. As a result of this collaboration, the CARE collection becomes the first KREAFUNK collection with a textile front instead of a metal grille. Gabriel® contributes recycled polyester to all speakers in the CARE collection. This polyester is made from 98% recycled plastic bottles. That's pretty cool!

In addition, we have reduced the consumption of all printed material. But, what we still get printed, we do at the Danish printing house, Johnsen. With them, our catalogues are printed on FSC® certified paper.

4.1 wooden boxes

All our audio products, our wireless chargers and our power banks come in packaging, which is made of Paulownia (paulownia). It is undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing trees in the world; a tree that does not require much maintenance and that contains qualities that also have other positive effects on the environment such as f.ex. to reestablish destroyed soil.

The wood we use for the packaging of the CARE collection is FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified (FSC N003167). The certification guarantees that the wood is responsibly handled and felled with care for the environment. In short, the FSC certification is your guarantee that the conditions for felling have been of the highest standard, that animals and plant life are protected and that those who work in the forest are guaranteed proper conditions.

In addition to the obvious advantages of the above, we also encourage you to extend the life of the wooden box. With the wooden boxes, we offer a smart storage option, a unique decoration piece or as an element of a creative project.

4.2 the packaging journey

The packaging journey does not end here. In the future you will also find that we have replaced the foam plastic in our master boxes with cardboard; that we have removed the superfluous protective foam in the inner boxes, and not least that we have reduced the size of the wooden box.

It has automatically affected the foam inside the wooden box, which has also been reduced. We are therefore pleased to announce that we only use the amount of packaging necessary for a product to be handled and stored safely. Thus, we can ensure that the product is not damaged and at the same time, we avoid unnecessary waste.

In the CARE range, we have reduced the amount of plastic in each product by 35%. We have replaced the plastic with wheat straw fibers, which give the surface a new, natural-inspired look. However, this does not change the surface of the products, which will still have soft touch as you know it from our other products.

In addition, the front of all speakers in the CARE collection is textile developed by the Danish textile company Gabriel®. This textile is made of 98% plastic bottles and adds an extra touch to the products.

So, how do you know that it is a CARE product you are holding in your hands? Check the packaging. When you see the CARE symbol on our packaging, you know that we have made a more sustainable choice regarding the different materials used for our products. And, that every product from the CARE range comes in an FSC certified wooden box.

And hey! There's more. Through the CARE range, we support charitable causes that work to make the world a better place. We do this with two crowns per sold CARE product in 2021. Supporting a charitable cause goes well with CARE products and our long-term goal of reducing the amount of plastic in everything we do.

**Since the launch of KREAFUNK CARE in January 2020, we have sold almost 41,000 products from our CARE collection. This means that DKK 90,778 goes directly to charitable causes. For 2020, we have chosen to donate to the Ocean Cleanup, whose mission is to develop advanced technologies to clear the oceans of plastic.
